The LDS Philanthropies Planned Giving Office

Mission Statement

The mission of the LDS Philanthropies Planned Giving Office is to assist individuals and families in perpetuating their family values and charitable inclinations through values-based gift planning.

Objectives

The Planned Giving Office is a facilitator to the fund-raising activities of LDS Philanthropies (LDSP) designed to efficiently enable planned gifts and to cultivate legal, tax, and financial professionals so LDS Philanthropies representatives have more time to work with donors. The Planned Giving Office has seven objectives.

    1. Train and partner with LDSP representatives in working with prospective donors who are interested in making a planned gift.
    2. Provide “value added” services to LDSP representatives by providing documents for deferred gifts, scholarships, and endowments.
    3. Provide planned giving assistance to prospective donors and their professionals.
    4. Assist with planning and processing major, complex donations.
    5. Proactively market planned gift opportunities to target prospective donor constituencies and their professionals.
    6. Establish recognition societies to honor and cultivate donors who have made deferred gifts.
    7. Establish a national planned giving council of members who provide advice or advocacy for, and referrals of, prospective donors.
